How old were you when you started surfing? I got my own board at 5 years old
How did you get into surfing? My parents were into it, so I wanted to do it too.
What is it like growing up on the North Shore? It’s the coolest thing in the world. It’s a short walk to the beach, the water is warm and after school everyone goes to the beach & hangs out & surfs together.
What is it like being a female and surfing on the North Shore? The big local guys cheer me & my sister on & tell us where to sit so we can catch killer waves!
What is your favorite surf spot on the North Shore? I like alot of spots, but my favorite is Vland, Rocky Point & Freddyland.
What other interests do you have besides surfing? Mountain biking, trampoline exercise, hiking, body surfing.
Who are some of your favorite surfers? Taj Burrow, Coco Ho, Silvana Lima, Mick Fanning
If you could travel anywhere in the world to surf where would you go? Tahiti-because I went there before and it was fun. I would take my family with me.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have 5 things, what would they be? Bible, family, lifetime supply of food & water, surfboard & pets.

Do you do any other ocean activities? I surf, go diving, canoe surf. Oh, and I drive the boat when our family goes fishing.
Do you think you’ll do SUP your whole life? Yeah, I mean I’m not just going to give it up. It’s fun.

Family: He comes from a strong Tahitian/Hawaiian/Chinese/Caucasian family surfing/skateboarding background.
Bio: He has been surfing/skating since age 3 and is a rare breed of talent who is able to skate all types of terrain. His competitive achievements consist of numerous local titles in Hawaii from mini groms to gromhood to am. level. as well as national titles thru the King of the Groms system. He has been featured on many major local media outlets from newspaper to news to tv profiles. He was also fortunate enough to be featured on 7 episodes of Disney XDs “Next X” and became the winner showcasing his talent at X-Games 16 skatepark in front of a sold out crowd. Heimana is also the only am. level skater who competed by invitation in this years Vans Am. tec pool party bowl event and the Phx Am. street event. A very high accomplishment in separate disciplines of skateboarding at a very young age. It is not only his raw talent in various skateboarding conditions but his positive energy, marketable looks, respect and attitude that make him a complete skateboarder with a strong following.
